My work in cat behavior began with my own cat, Louise.

Like many cat parents, I found myself overwhelmed and unsure what to do. I remember wondering if the behavior would ever improve — or if this was simply something we had to live with.

Volunteering with a rescue deepened that experience. I saw how often behavior challenges were misunderstood, misinterpreted, or labeled as “unfixable.” Again and again, I saw cats surrendered or rehomed not because they were bad — but because their behavior wasn’t understood. Many people saw the cat's react and deemed them as mean or cruel when all they needed was someone to understand them.

That’s what shaped my approach.

I believe most behavior issues are not random, and they are not hopeless. They are communication.

When we slow down and look at the full picture — environment, routine, stressors, history, reinforcement, unmet needs, fear — patterns begin to emerge. And when patterns emerge, we can create structure.

My goal is not just to create a behavior plan.

It’s to help you feel understood, grounded, and confident in the process. You are not overreacting. You are not failing. And your cat is not broken. They are not difficult. They are expressive.

With thoughtful assessment and consistent implementation, meaningful change is possible. When we shift from reacting to understanding, everything changes. Behavioral problems are no longer moral failures. They are solvable patterns.
